Chapter Challenges

We all love to ride. That's why you have joined our Chapter or are looking to join our Chapter.  Why not add a little competition? 

As a member of the Des Moines H.O.G. Chapter, you are eligible to participate in annual challenges that align with our theme of "Ride and Have Fun!!!"

Mileage Challenge

Every member that submits Ride 365 starting miles (in accordance with deadline in the Chapter rules) is automatically entered to partcipate in the Annual Mileage Challenge.  Accumulation of mileage for this Chapter challenge is related to your Ride 365 mileage accumulation, so participation is easy.

Chapter Award

  • Goal for Total Miles annouced to kick off the riding season, typically by April Chapter Meeting
  • Total Miles represents the accumulation of mileage ridden and SUBMITTED for the calendar year for all members that participate
  • Progress towards our goal may be shared during Chapter meetings and events
  • Every member participating receives a patch to highlight the accomplishment.  Example of the patch is in the image below.  Includes the total mileage for the Chapter.

Individual Award

  • Participating members are also competing for the most miles ridden and SUBMITTED for the calendar year
  • Members with the top mileage are awarded prizes 
  • Individual mileage progress may be shared during Chapter meetings and events

Scavenger Hunt

Fun challenge to find landmarks, objects, sights, etc. across the state of Iowa.  Each year has a theme with items to "Hunt" for.  

  • Review the Scavenger Hunt clues.  When you feel you know the answer, get on your bike and ride!
  • Take a picture that includes you, Scavenger Hunt rules, and the answer
  • By the date specified in the rules, collect your pictures and provide to the coordinator
